Empower Yourself: Free Tools and Talent Networks
Accessing Your Next Professional Milestone
While the sections above detail opportunities to support Empower Queer’s mission, we also provide a comprehensive suite of free, readily available resources specifically designed to support the career growth and professional resilience of LGBTQIA+ individuals. We understand that finding and thriving in a supportive workplace requires more than just job postings; it demands access to curated knowledge, mentorship, and a trusted network. These resources are continually updated and available to anyone in the community, regardless of location or prior affiliation with our organization. Our goal is to democratize access to high-quality career support, ensuring that economic empowerment is within reach for every queer professional.
The Queer Career Toolkit is our flagship digital offering, accessible instantly upon registration. This toolkit includes downloadable templates for trans-affirming resumes and cover letters, interview preparation guides addressing non-binary and preferred name usage, and a detailed guide on navigating benefits and policies specific to LGBTQIA+ employees. Additionally, we host the National LGBTQIA+ Talent Directory, a non-public, vetted database that connects qualified queer professionals directly with our corporate partners who have demonstrated a commitment to inclusive hiring. Individuals can opt in to be discovered by companies actively seeking diverse talent for positions ranging from entry-level to executive leadership. Finally, we run monthly virtual workshops focusing on specialized topics like salary negotiation for marginalized groups, building your personal brand as a queer professional, and the essentials of forming strong internal Employee Resource Groups (ERGs). These workshops are led by certified career coaches and are recorded for on-demand viewing, ensuring the knowledge is available 24/7. This suite of resources is maintained and continuously enhanced by our dedicated team to ensure our community members have the most effective tools to secure meaningful, equitable employment.
